BP Seeks Ruling on Volume of Spilled Oil

BP has filed a motion asking the federal judge presiding over the Gulf of Mexico oil spill trial to rule that roughly 800,000 bbl of crude that it captured from its damaged Macondo well should not be counted for the purpose of determining civil penalties under the Clean Water Act.
