A new energy lobbying group, the American Shale & Manufacturing Partnership (ASMP), has formed to promote shale development and its role in providing reliable natural gas supplies to energy-intensive manufacturers. The ASMP is a partnership made up of industry groups, trade unions and major research universities. Its mission is to "realize a manufacturing renaissance in the United States through thoughtful discussion and education."
