Spain’s Repsol Cancels All LNG Sales to Argentina

Spain’s Repsol has canceled all LNG sales to Argentina after the government there expropriated most of the firm’s stake in YPF, Argentina’s largest oil and gas producer, earlier this month. Repsol spokesman Kristian Rix confirmed that the company has ended a contract to supply Argentina’s state energy firm Enarsa with 10 LNG cargoes this year. Repsol had diverted the first of those shipments to Spain earlier this month after Enarsa failed to present letters of credit before delivery, as required in the contract between the two companies.
