Japanese Companies Back Louisiana LNG Export Project

The signing of commercial development agreements between Sempra's Cameron LNG and Mitsubishi and Mitsui will allow the two Japanese trading houses to underwrite a total of 8 million tons per year -- roughly two-thirds of total capacity -- from Cameron's planned liquefaction and export terminal at Hackberry, Louisiana. Cameron has received approval from the US Department of Energy (DOE) to export up to 12 million tons/yr of LNG from three LNG trains (OD Apr.18'12).
