Anadarko’s Output Falls in Algeria, But Settlement Boosts Earnings

Growth of Anadarko Petroleum’s liquid hydrocarbons slowed in the first quarter of 2012 due to a sharp drop in output in Algeria, but the company also benefited from a huge cash windfall after settling a six-year-old dispute with the North African country during the quarter. Houston-based Anadarko’s global output of crude, condensate and natural gas liquids (NGLs) reached an all-time high of 301,000 barrels per day, almost three- quarters of which was crude oil.
