Abu Dhabi Invites Firms to Prequalify for Onshore Oil Field Bids

Abu Dhabi has invited a variety of international firms to prequalify to bid for its sought-after giant onshore oil fields, Oil Daily has learned. State Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. (Adnoc) has sent letters to some 10 companies, including majors BP, Exxon Mobil, Royal Dutch Shell and Total. The four companies all hold a stake in Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations (Adco), which currently holds the soon-expiring concession for the emirate's onshore producing fields (OD Jan.17'12).
