Centrica Looks Set to Buy Total's UK North Sea Assets

Leading UK utility Centrica looks to be poised to buy the UK North Sea assets that are being divested by French major Total (EIF Dec.21'11). Speaking at a Monday press briefing in London, Total's head of Northern European exploration and production, Patrice de Vivies, said only that the sale of this bundle of non-operated interests should close this week and that the buyer -- selected from 15 bidders -- is a “well-known company.”
