Egypt Follows Up Oil Round With Offering of Gas Blocks

On the heels of a successful oil licensing round by state Egyptian General Petroleum Corp. (EGPC), a gas licensing round officially was opened this week by state Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Co. (Egas). EGPC currently is evaluating the bids received for the 15 blocks it had on offer, Adel Saeed, EGPC vice chairman for agreements, tells Oil Daily. “We got 25 offers from 12 companies,” Saeed said, adding that “the results of the evaluation are expected by the end of July.”
