US December natural gas futures were on a roll last week, gaining ground Monday through Wednesday as the contract headed toward expiration on the Monday after Thanksgiving. The North American natural gas market has been facing some strong head winds, as mild fall weather propelled storage inventories to new heights and record-high lower-48 gas output closes in on 70 billion cubic feet per day.
