Shareholders in the Caspian PipelineConsortium (CPC) on Friday officiallylaunched a project to expand the CPCpipeline, which runs from the giantTengiz field in Kazakhstan to a terminalnear the Russian Black Sea port ofNovorossiysk.Under the $5.4 billion expansion,agreed by CPC shareholders late lastyear, the 1,500 km (900 mile) line’scapacity should almost double fromthe current 730,000 b/d to nearly 1.4million b/d by 2015.
