Statoil Gets Havis Approval

Norwegian state champion Statoil has received the go-ahead from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate for its wildcat Havis well in the Barents Sea. Havis will be drilled in water depths of 372 meters (1,220 feet) and around 7 km (4 miles) from the big Skrugard oil discovery made by Statoil in the western Barents earlier this year.
