Brazil’s government will reclaim promis-ing oil exploration blocks won by companiesin a bidding round five years ago but neverformally leased to the winners, the country’senergy minister said.The long-expected decision to cancel thewinning bids comes after the governmentput off final signing and approval of the con-cessions for years even after it overturned le-gal challenges to the 2006 auction where therights were sold.
