Kenya-based mining company Cortec M ining Kenya (CMK), the holder of special property licence 256, has announced the gazetting by the National Environment Management Authority (Nema) of the environmental-impact study report on a proposed conversion to a mining lease for niobuim and associated rare earths at Mrima Hill."The gazetting of the environmental- and social-impact assessment is a Kenya government and Nema requirement to convert the exploration licence to a mining lease, which is what CMK aims to achieve," says CMK MD David Anderson.
