Record copper production achieved by miner in Q2

Copper production at mining and metals company First Quantum's Kansanshi operation, in Zambia, increased 31% in the three months ending June 30, which contributed to a new quarterly record copper production of 80 6001 for the second quarter of 2008. The production at Kansanshi, combined with the stockpiling of concentrate production, led to a 39% increase in tons of contained copper sold, when compared with the corresponding quarter last year, reports the company.
