SEAMETRIC of Norway filed for bankruptcy last week, ending a year-long attempt to reach an agreement with the Chinese yard that has been building its two platform installation units.The company has outstanding bond debt of $54 million, and unpaid claims from suppliers for a similar amount. The bankruptcy petition was filed in Stavanger,Norway on 14 January. SeaMetric set out to build two of its Twin Marine Lifter vessels at the China Petroleum Liaohe Equipment Company, a subsidiary of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC).
