Closings at Conti Consolidations affect belt, hose operations

Rubber & Plastics News Staff FAIRLAWN, Ohio—ContiTech A.G. is making two major moves—one in its conveyor belting business and the other in the firm's hose division—that include plans to shutter a conveyor belt plant. It will close its Bowmanville, Ontario, belt facility by mid-2016 because of the continuing downturn in the mining and coal industry, impacting about 135 workers in the process.
