New coal-mining equipment sinks low

Bulk materials handling specialist Sandvik is extending its product offering to the low-seam coal hauling market with the introduction of the TC230E, a new battery-powered coal hauler capable of operating at mining heights as low as 1,3 m. Boasting a 13-t mechanical design capacity, these machines will be introduced to, and tested in, the local market over the next six months. The first three units to reach South African shores have already been reserved.
