VILLAGE Main Reef Gold Mining Co Ltd has proposed taking a controlling stake in unlisted Lesego Platinum Ltd in an equity deal valued at R411 million (almost 206 million shares at R2 each) (55 million US dollars). The listed cash shell, currently 48%-owned by Bernard Swanepoel's To the Point Investments, has sought opportunities since the former chief executive of Harmony Gold Mining Co Ltd became involved in 2008.
