BARRICK Gold Corp has submitted an updated feasibility study on its 60 percent-owned Pueblo Viejo gold-silver-copper project to the government of the Dominican Republic. Barrick and Goldcorp Inc (40 percent) are seeking approval to spend 2.7 billion US dollars in constructing the mine over the next four years. The construction cost is now expected to be up to 600 million US dollars more than the previous estimate (published last year). This mainly reflects an increase in the throughput from 18,000t/d to 24,000t/d.
