摘要

In this letter, a novel asymmetric coplanar wave guide-fed slot antenna is proposed which consist of a combination of triangular and rectangular slot (aperture) with a rectangular stub for practical ultrawideband (UWB) application. Inclusion of higher order asymmetry in the proposed antenna structure helps to broaden the bandwidth considerably by achieving significantly improved impedance variation characteristics (real part of impedance varies between 45 and 55 ). The dimensions of the antenna are only 20 mm x 25 mm x 0.8 mm. The designed antenna has broad bandwidth ranging from 3.1 to 12.08 GHz having return loss less than -15 dB in most of the band which produces linear phase characteristics. The proposed antenna has omnidirectional pattern along with almost constant gain with gain variation less than only 0.5 dB in the entire desired operating band.
