Stalprodukt buys Boleslaw, securingZn supplyfor Arcelor

Stalprodukt has acquired a majority stake in Polish zinc and lead producer Boleslaw, in a move that will allow ArcelorMittal to source a portion of its zinc requirement internally. ArcelorMittal, which holds a 33.7% stake in Stalprodukt, consumes 300,000 tonnes of zinc peryear in the production of coated steel, about10% ofwhich is sourced from Boleslaw.
