Hot rolled coil and slab prices will move up in the short term, said Ternium cfo Roberto Philipps. In a conference call for investors and analysts, the executive noted that hot rolled coil prices are already increasing in the USA. "There is information that HRC prices are around 640 dollars) to 660 dollars per tonne in the USA, and they are moving up to 700 dollars per tonne," Philipps said, adding that these rises would benefit Temium's operation in Mexico. "Usually prices in Mexico are 20-25 dollars per tonne lower than in the USA, so increases in the USA would reflect in our business in Mexico."
