Usiminas, CSN and ArcelorMittal lose Brazilian distribution market share while Gerdau lifts stake

Gerdau stole a march on Usiminas, CSN and ArcelorMittal Brasil in the Brazilian flat products distribution market in 2010, the Brazilian national association of distributors (Inda)said. Comercial Gerdau, Gerdau's network of service centres and distributors, purchased a total of 445,545 tonnes offlatcarbon steel products in 2010, surpassing CSN's Cia Metalurgica Prada and becoming the second largestdistributorin terms of purchased tonnage. The figures, which include purchases of slabs and imported material, totaled 4.35 million tonnes, with Comercial Gerdau's stake reaching 10.2%.
