Iran's Salco starts workon 103,000 tpy Al smelter

Work has started in Iran on South Aluminium Co's(Salco)103,000 tpy smelter, the company said. The smelter is being built in an industrial zone 50km east of the port city of Asalouyeh, md Mohammad Mahdi Mostaghimi told MB. The smelter can be expanded to 310,000 tpy, although there is no timetable for this yet. Salco expects to spend a total of around 900 million euros(1.2 billion dollars) on the smelter.
