China's Hunan province has ordered hundreds of small antimony smelters to merge into nine companies, as it tries to reorder the sector to improve market structure and environmental regulation. Production around Lengshuijiang city, where antimony output accounts for around 90% of China's total, will be divided between the nine 5,000 tpy producers, and Hsikwangshan Twinkling Star, the country's dominant antimony smelter, which has capacity of around 40,000 tpy.
