Liuzhou China Tin has purchased almost 200 tonnes of antimony metal held by authorities in China's Guangxi autonomous region since November last year. China Tin was the highest bidder for the 188 tonnes of ingot, part of a cache seized during a police raid on a warehouse in Nanning. The metal was believed to have been en route for the international market via Vietnam. Fearful of prosecution, the metal's owners did not step forward, leaving Guangxi authorities to auction the ingot to the highest bidder.
