C&l waste arisings on downward trend in England

Commercial and industrial (C&l) waste arisings in England have fallen by a third in seven years, according to the final results of a Defra survey. The Commercial and Industrial Waste Survey 2009, which was conducted by Jacobs, identified C&I waste arisings at 48 million tonnes in 2009. This represents a decline of 19.9 million tonnes, or 29%, from the previous survey year of 2002/03, where C&I waste arisings stood at 67.9 million tonnes.
