The British supermarket chains Marks & Spencer, Sainsbury's, Tesco and the Co-operative group have dropped their insistence that meat suppliers feed their animals only non-biotech rations, our sister publication Agrow is reporting. The change has resulted from a much-reduced supply of non-biotech animal feed available to UK farmers, the retailers explain. Consequently, they can no longer guarantee that their fresh meat is derived from animals fed a non-GMO diet.
