Danish report shows hens major source of salmonellosis

Laying hens are the biggest source of salmonellosis in the European Union, declares a report that the Danish National Food Institute (DTU) drew up for the European Food Safety Authority under the EFSA's external expertise program.But the report, titled "Estimation of the relative contribution of different food and animal sources to human Salmonella infections in the European Union," also finds the relative contribution of food animal sources varies among regions and countries.
