A LITTLE NUD6E: FDA will need to look at misleading structure/function claims and ingredients lists on food labels if the Senate has its way. In report language filed in the FDA's fiscal 201 I budget bill (S 3606), the Senate includes a $1.4 million increase, as requested, for FDA to use data to support a modernized food label. The Senate Appropriations Committee passed the $2.5 billion bill for FDA on July 15.
