Sulphuric acid markets were mostly quiet, with prices generally assessed stable week-on-week given the lack of activity, though imminent business is expected to provide firmer indications. Given the current lack of activity and widespread agreement on notional price levels, both European and Asian spot export prices were assessed stable at $0-10/mt FOB Northwest Europe and Japan/South Korea. Yara Brazil is expected to award an18,000 mt tender for March delivery on January 15, and most market participants expect it to be in the $40s/mt CFR, within the upper end of the current assessed range. Brazil’s December imports jumped 137% year on year to 54,319 mt, leaving imports for the whole year up 26% at 592,877 mt.
