USA: UAN exports accelerated through May

US UAN exports nearly doubled in May 2016 versus May 2015, contributing to the nearly doubling in US exports for the first 11 months of the US fertilizer year that began July 1, 2015, according to data from the US Department of Commerce. The surge in exports during May of this year to 144,065 st (130,695 mt) versus one year earlier of 76,506 st (69,406 mt) was due mostly to increases in shipments to three countries. Shipments in May 2016 to France rose to 63,381 st from 44,124 st, exports to Argentina rose to 43,245 st versus nothing, and loadings for Belgium increased to 16,535 st from nothing.
