US NOLA: Low interest squeezes DAP/MAP spread

The price spread between DAP and MAP at New Orleans this week is as low as $2/st and buyers shopping for material that will have to be carried through the summer are trying to eliminate any premium for 11-52-0 for spot barges. This week DAP barges changed hands at $305-310/st FOB New Orleans, while MAP 11-52-0 was on offer from traders at $307/st FOB against bids at $305/st FOB. The high end of the DAP price range reflects 15 barge sales reported by Mosaic. All other business was at the low end of the range.
