Finland: Terrafame to increase acid, sulphur use

Terrafame, which runs the former Talvivaara mine in Finland, is expected to increase its consumption of both sulphur and sulphuric acid over the coming year. The buyer's acid purchases for 2016 are expected to be around 200,000 mt, with the volume likely to increase to around 240-250,000 mt/year from 2017 onwards. The buyer is also seeking to diversify its supply sources somewhat, and is understood to have already secured a cargo from Russia.
