Yara's 2015 net income up 6% but Lifeco a concern

Yara posted net income at NOK 8.1 billion ($0.96 billion) for calendar year 2015, a 6% increase on the prior year, reflecting lower energy costs in Europe and a stronger US dollar. Revenue reached NOK 111.9 billion last year up from NOK95.3 billion in 2014. Yara’s profits were hit by asset write-downs of NOK 2.4 billion, most of which was related to the poor outlook for associate Lifeco in Libya, and three wholly-owned Yara plants in France and Trinidad.
