Potash prices remain stable in Brazil, SE Asia

Potash prices were assessed slightly higher this week in the US Midwest and South Plains ,while domestic Chinese prices fell again. The Brazilian and Southeast Asian markets remain stable. The Southeast Asian sMOP market remained quiet this week, though small tenders have now been issued in Indonesia. Offers remain as low as $215/mt CFR, according to a local source, suggesting that suppliers' previous posted prices of $240/mt CFR for Malaysia and Indonesia may be difficult to achieve during this tender season. Still, confirmation of these offers was lacking at press time. Market participants await larger MOP tenders, awards for which may yet satisfy suppliers' bullish moods, provided that disciplined approaches are maintained. For now, the Southeast Asian sMOP market is assessed unchanged at $210-260/mt CFR.
