Faroe Petroleum, as operator of Production Licence 740 (PL 740) in the Norwegian North Sea, has been given consent to spud an exploration well on the Brasse prospect by Norway's Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA). Exploration well 31/7-1 will be the first to be drilled in PL 740. The probe is located 16km southeast of Oseberg A and around 93km west of Sotra in Hordaland. Water depth at the site is 188m (617ft).
