France's Technip has denied that it is in merger talks with US big hitter FMC Technologies. "Following recent press articles with respect to possible strategic transactions involving Technip, we state that there are no ongoing discussions with respect to such transactions," Technip said. It was reported by newswires that Technip, Europe's largest oil field services provider, was in talks to merge with US player FMC, citing "people familiar with the matter".
