Lundin riding high

Lundin Petroleum said today that it had made a net profit of US 59m in the second quarter,compared to 47m in the same period last year.Earnings before interest,-tax,depletion and amortisation(EBITDA)were 150m,against 140m in the second quarter of 2007.CEO Ashley Heppenstall said:"The second quarter of 2008 was a very important period for Lundin Petroleum.We were successful in bringing on new production from the Alvheim field in Norway as well as drilling successful exploration wells in Russia and Norway.I am very pleased that we continue to increase our reserves and that production is now on an upward trend following first production from Alvheim."
