With 1.4 million women worldwide newly diagnosed in 2008, breast cancer is currently the second most common cancer. Although the 5-year survival rates continue to improve, approaching 85% in the well-developed countries, still roughly 30% of women will die of their disease. Yearly more than 450,000 breast cancer related deaths are reported making this disease the most common cause of cancer death in women.
