The squeeze in phenol availability, which has dogged the market during the first hals of 2003, looks set to ease in the second half. A series of production outages had created a very short market, but producers suggest there are strong signs that the market could return to comfortable levels by quarter three. 'We had limitations on supply up to now this year, but from July the market will be more balanced,' anticipated a producer.
