Japan’s Inpex and Anglo Dutch player Shell could save up to US $6 Bn if Indonesia builds the Masela Abadi LNG plant onshore rather than off- shore, according to a maritime affairs official. President Joko Widodo is expected to soon decide on the site of what will be one of Indonesia’s largest LNG plants, but his adminis- tration is divided on whether a land-based or floating facility would better suit South East Asia’s largest economy, Reuters reported.
