Merlin points to innovation

Much of the cost crisis in the North Sea can be solved if the government encourages oil compa- nies to look ‘outside the box’ and apply innovative solutions from overseas, said Scotland-based engineering consultants Merlin ERD. Merlin’s managing director Iain Hutchison said the company has “the key to unlock cost reduc- tions, which will protect jobs and make North Sea oil more competitive”.
