Buru Energy reports that oil has been encoun- tered in the Ungani Far West 1 well in production licence L21 in Western Australia. An oil sample was recovered from the top of the well’s Anderson Formation, at a depth of around 1,560m (5,118ft), and interpretation of pressure data indicates the well holds a potential oil col- umn of at least 14m (45ft), according to a com- pany statement, of which around 5m (16ft) is iden- tified as net pay.
