BHP hits GoM Caicos oil

Australia's BHP Billiton has discovered oil with its Caicos exploration well in the deepwater US Gulf of Mexico (GoM). The Caicos find is located in Green Canyon 564, which lies around 161km south of Louisiana. The well was drilled to a total depth of 9,388m (30,803ft) and encountered oil in multiple Miocene horizons, BHP said.
