Australia’s Woodside has chalked up an increase in its best estimate contingent resource (2C) by 83m boe to 4.481 Bn boe following the unveiling of two gas discoveries offshore Myanmar in Q1 2016. The Shwe Yee Htun-1 exploration well in Block A-6 discovered 32m (105ft) of net gas pay (increased from an earlier 15m/49ft net gas pay estimate), while the Thalin-1A exploration well in Block AD-7 encountered 62m (203ft) net gas pay.
