BP bags Caspian Sea block

BP and Azerbaijan’s state-owned Socar have landed a block in the Caspian Sea. The partners have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly explore potential prospects in Block D230 in the North Absheron Basin, BP said, adding that the deal “gives BP the exclusive right to negotiate an agreement with Socar to explore and develop the block”.
