Israel plans more offshore wells

Israeli Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz said he expects offshore gas exploration to accelerate in the next few months, according to reports. Steinitz said he recently met officials from Italy’s Eni and “20 to 30 other energy firms”, such as Shell, Hess, ExxonMobil and EOG, in a bid to attract them to invest in Israeli fields off its Mediterranean coast, Reuters reported.
