The global offshore Maintenance, Modifications & Operations (MMO) sector has been suffering over the last two years and will continue to do so in the short term, although in the longer terms the sector will grow, say consultants Douglas- Westwood (DW). “Early indications in our research are that off- shore MMO spend has declined significantly in the last two years and will remain constrained over the forecast. This is a result of large scale cost inflation over the period 2012-2014 which has been curtailed by a drive from operating compa- nies to reign in MMO spend as a result of the oil price collapse,” said DW.
