Cairn Energy has ditched plans for exploration activity near Spain’s island of Ibiza, the company said. Cairn was due to carry out seismic work on four offshore blocks in the Gulf of Valencia but has now decided to focus its spending in Senegal, where it believes its oil fields could hold more than 1 Bn bbl of oil.
